a book to support your disabled child

Through her book “A guide to the school career of a different child”, Fabienne Henry, a reference teacher for the education of students with disabilities, gives advice to parents with her experience.

“Is my child different? »: this is one of the most common questions parents ask childcare professionals. To help them find the answers, Fabienne Henry wrote “A Different Child’s Guide to the School Career”. The book reveals the basic tools for supporting a child with a disability, ADHD, Dys, HPI or even ASD. But the book has other advantages, it is both a professional and a parent’s guide for navigating the school, administrative and medical fields, which are often difficult to understand. In addition to offering many simple benchmarks, it offers many tricks to make it easier to get out of it.

“These pages are the result of my experience”

If Fabienne Henry was motivated to write this book, it is because she often faces these questions herself. As a reference teacher for the education of students with developmental disabilities, she provides the keys to supporting her child. “These pages are the result of my experience, thousands of conversations with children, parents, schools, health professionals and organizations specialized in supporting children’s education,” she explains. I wrote this guide because it is much easier for a professional to have effective, simple and precise support than to search for uncertain clues on incomplete information. »
