A young self-taught pianist moves the judges of France has an incredible talent by playing Beethoven

The young Rayane, aged 15, has been playing the piano for a little over a year. Completely self-taught pianist, he presented himself on the stage of France with an incredible talent and completely amazed and moved the jurors to tears, by interpreting the third movement of Beethoven’s Clair de lune sonata.

Rayane learned the piano “by watching videos on the internet” and then by practicing on self-service pianos in train stations and in piano shops. His idols, his models are Chopin, Liszt and Beethoven. It is also one of the pieces by the German composer that Rayane chose to present to the jury, the third movement of sonata n°14, better known as the Moonlight Sonata. This fast-paced movement is the most demanding of the sonata.

Rayane then settles down at the piano and the magic happens. So certainly, the performance is far from perfect, a few notes are off, but when you know that this young man has been playing the piano for only a year and has learned everything on his own by training on pianos in free- service commands respect. And the judges and the public present in the room were not mistaken. Rayane received a standing ovation and even brought singer Marianne James to tears.
