Ahead of Saint Francis de Sales, a special program on Catholic media — KTOTV
How is the Catholic press doing in France? What is its contribution to current cultural transformations? How can we make the witness given by Christians audible?
In his apostolic letter It’s about lovePope Francis wondered about the legacy left by Saint Francis de Salesfour centuries after his death: “I found his flexibility and his capacity for vision illuminating”, he wrote, because he was able to perceive how the Word of God opened up “new and unpredictable horizons in a world in rapid transition”. In this changing era that we are experiencing, “it invites us to come out of an excessive concern for ourselves, for the structures, for the image that we give in society, and to ask ourselves instead what the concrete needs are. and the spiritual expectations of our people”.

Days of Saint Francis de Sales in Lourdes
This exchange takes place a few days before the Saint Francis de Sales Days which bring together journalists, media professionals and Catholic communicators from more than 25 countries. These days of reflection and encounter are organized in Lourdes from 25 to 27 January by the Catholic Media Federation (FCM).
On this occasion, the Jacques Hamel 2023 Prize will distinguish Christophe Chaland, journalist at Le Pèlerin, for his account of the story of the Italian priest Pier-Luigi Maccali, “752 days hostage of the mujahideen”. This prize will be awarded by Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of the Holy See, present at the Days of Saint Francis de Sales.
