Axl Rose “Ripped Everything” Singing With AC/DC, According To Anthrax’s Scott Ian

Scott Ian, guitaristAnthraxclaims that the concertAC DCwith Axl Rose on vocals, which he attended in New York was “fabulous” and “fantastic”.

AC/DC has postponed the last 10 dates of its North American tour to the spring of 2016 following the recommendation made to frontman Brian Johnson that he no longer play in concert or face “total hearing loss”.

The band then wrapped up the legs of their Rock Or Bust tour with the Guns N’ Roses frontman as “guest vocalist.”

Most recently, Ian reflected on his experience seeing Rose with AC/DC at Madison Square Garden, during an appearance on the latest episode of the Appetite For Distortion podcast.

He stated : “That Axl/DC show was fantastic, and I thought he did a great job mimicking Bon’s singing style. [Scott] and Brian. And his joy as a fan of this group [était perceptible sur scène]… I do not know him [personnellement] but I always knew he was an AC/DC fan, because he talks about it a lot.”

Scott added: “[Axl] tore it all up. And his love for the band was so evident on stage that you could feel how happy he was to lead one of his favorite bands of all time. And not only did he do him justice, but it couldn’t have been better…except if Bon had come back from the dead. Anyway, Axl tore it all up – he fucking tore it all up. […] It was a fabulous, fantastic show.”

Last October, the singer Brian Johnson said he was unable to watch Axl Rose sing with AC/DC due to a strong feeling of “desperation”.

AC/DC released their latest album, Power Up, in November 2020.

For its part, Anthrax recently announced Charlie Benante’s temporary replacement (who is on tour with Pantera).

Furthermore, the group of Thrash Metal keep working on new songs, which could be released as multiple EPs rather than a full album.
