Bastite. Yarn bombing, book boxes, initiatives that bring the village to life

The municipality of Bastit informs the population that the traditional vow ceremony will take place on Sunday, January 8 at 6 pm in the municipal hall. He reminds that several initiatives were implemented in the village during December.

Thus, three inhabitants of Bastit participated in an original and unifying project with the aim of knitting, crocheting, assembling different parts to dress the trees in the village for the end of the year celebrations. This knitted graffiti, yarn bombing, appeared in the United States in 2005, where benches, stairs, bridges, statues and trees are covered with knitted or crocheted creations. This movement, which became a way of artistic expression, thus sensitized the causse knitters.

On this cultural perimeter, the bookcase has finally fulfilled its promise. Set up near the church, it now features books ranging from novels to comics for all ages. Village microlibrary, anyone can use it or add their own books inside. The goals of this installation are to make culture even more accessible, to encourage reading, sharing and social connections with municipal structures.

In that period, Christmas trees made of recycled pallets were placed in the center of the town and at the intersections leading to individual hamlets, which were decorated by the residents. These are all initiatives implemented by dynamic residents and elected officials, who are experimenting with new models at the heart of the village spirit that must be supported and expanded.
