Cégep André-Laurendeau launches its cookbook
Franchising program Cegep André-Laurendeau launches her cookbook, Desserts of the worldwhich offers 55 recipes for desserts from 29 different countries. Goal? Enable people of immigrant origin to share part of their story through cooking.
“For me, tasting quindima is access to memories of very happy moments with my family, all gathered around the table, simply celebrating life,” says Isadora Grespan, originally from Brazil. Quindim is a Brazilian dessert made from egg yolk, sugar and grated coconut.
Profits collected from the sale of the book will serve as emergency funds for the franchising program.
“Some of them sometimes live in precarious conditions and need help,” explains Jessica Duret, education advisor and responsible for francization at Cégep. A recipe book, “is always practical and makes a good gift,” she adds.
To get the recipe book, which sells for $18, you have to go to the Salon des artisans du Cégep, from December 7 to 8, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
