For Nuit de la lecture 2023, comics will be in the spotlight

The 2023 festivities begin with Reading Nights. On Saturday, January 21, there will be a Night of Reading, a free all-day and evening animation around comics.

Reading nights are always a pleasant event for experienced readers, but also an opportunity to inspire those for whom reading is not necessarily their favorite activity. This year, the Lacépède media library in Agen offers you an edition on the theme of comics. For the youngest, it is often the first approach to reading. Growing up, the comic becomes a bit like Madeleine Proust. There are pages that you never tire of browsing, at any age…

In the media library, the day will be dedicated to activities. From 10:30 a.m., youth illustrator Philippe Jalbert will organize a drawing workshop for children aged 5 to 8 years. He is known to a very young audience for “Once upon a time a mouse ver…”, “Once upon a time rider Ro…”. His albums with deliberately incomplete titles play with children’s classics. It will continue at 11:30 a.m. with the signing of the contract.

For the older ones, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., the game Grand Frisson, from 9 years old, promises excitement. Then, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Christine Pellehigue will present the works she chose for her animation “Madeleine Littéraire”. At the same time, a large part of Loup-Garou, this role-playing game very popular among young people, will take place in the mezzanine of the media library. At 4 p.m., the game “Dedi Katz”, designed by the comic book author, will delight the 12-year-old audience. Finally, from 17:30 to 19:00, the last activity of the day: “A small story-telling walk”, by the Nerac storyteller Agnès Le Part.

The party will continue until the evening hours. From 18:00 to 22:00, comics, board games and even an escape game are always waiting for you.
