Jonathann Daval: this ban imposed by Alexia’s family
On January 19, in son podcast produced for Europe 1, Christophe Hondelatte interviewed Martine Henry, the mother of Jonathann Daval, who published a book last November. A book in which she returns to the murder committed by his son on his daughter-in-law, Alexia, on the trial that followed and on its version of the story. At the microphone of our colleague, former emblematic presenter of the show Let the accused enter, she explained that the victim’s family didn’t like hers and so they shunned her.
Speaking of his son Jonathann, Martine Henry felt that Alexia’s parents have her “kidnapped”, in a way, since he “no longer had the right to come to the house”. As she said, her daughter-in-law “wanted him to set foot in [elle]”. “hurt” by the fact of “to not see” his child, his mother however admitted that the in-laws of Jonathann Daval had “taken as [leur] son”. By way of explanation, she referred to the social conflict that kept the two parties apart. “We weren’t good enough for her […]. She made us feel it.” said Martine Henry about Alexia, adding that the problem was the lack “silver” and styling “clothing” that his family wore. “Alexia’s mother comes from a wealthy family”, she indicated.
An in-law very attached to Jonathann Daval
For her part, the family of her daughter-in-law was particularly shocked to learn that the murderer of Alexia was Jonathann Daval, which she greatly appreciated. In their book published in October 2021, Jean-Pierre and Isabelle Fouillot, the parents of the victim, return to what they felt when they discovered the truth, on television. “The sky is falling on our heads for the second time. It’s a second mourning: we have just lost our son-in-law. And we still love him”, they write with emotion.
