Kergrist. Paul and Josephine, an album for young people about ecology
Mélanie Ricard, author, officially releases her children’s book titled Pavla and Jozefina, whose goal is to educate young people about ecology. A resident of the city for two years, nothing determined Mélanie Ricard to illustrate and write:
I used to live in Alsace and I’m actually an interior designer. After coming here, I did illustration while on maternity leave. They liked my drawings and I ended up writing and illustrating my own book.
Together with his wife, they both started the process of releasing an album and today it is a joint project that is being created.
The album is intended for ages 7 to 12. I used watercolor for the illustration, I wanted to stay in the marine theme with a poetic staging, adds the author, who wanted to introduce a message of prevention through her two characters, Paul and Joséphine.
The pirate Paul falls into the sea and meets the mermaid Joséphine, who shows him a sea litter with reused items.
The album will be available in all Leclerc cultural spaces in Morbihan, Finistère and Côtes-d’Armor as well as in Pontivy, at the Rendez-Vous Anywhere bookstore.
Saturday, December 3, at 10:30 a.m., book signing at Rendez-Vous N’importeoù, Pontivy. Paul and Josephine, 40 pages, €14.90.
