L’Isle-Jourdain: author Martine Granjan Marquès unveils her first book

Author Martine Granjan Marquès came to Effects de Pages bookstore to sign her first book “Ne me look pas” published by MVO. A friendly meeting with a lot of modesty and humor. Delighted with the release of her first book, the author did not hide her communicative joy.

How did you come to want to write a novel?

I always wrote, but without any publication. This book is not a surprise for me, it forced itself on me. On the other hand, his announcement is, and I’m very happy about it.

How was the writing of the book?

For “Don’t look at me” I wrote non-stop, 7 to 8 hours a day, for 4 months. I first wrote the summary of the book in the broadest outline, and then, holding on to it as a common thread, the pen guided my inspiration.

Is the story pure fiction or does it have similarities to your life?

There is no personal connection, this novel is pure fiction. “Don’t look at me” is about the boring relationship between mother and daughter. The latter is so convinced that she is ugly that she lives locked up with her mother. Trauma, resilience, attachment, maternal bond, violence… make this book a powerful psychological thriller.

The reviews are excellent about the novel that heralds the promising future of Martine Granjan Marquès. We will now have to count on her among the writers from the Toulouse region. The release of her second book in bookstores is announced for April 2023. There is no doubt that the author will return to L’Isle-Jourdain on this occasion.
