“Little cookbook” of Nepalese cuisine
Finally available, A small Nepali cookbook it is the result of the work of children from the Namaste Children Nepal orphanage in Kathmandu. It was illustrated and drawn by Michèle Pilz, one of the volunteers returning from a humanitarian trip, and then sent to Kathmandu to be printed to keep costs down.
Returning to the Catalan country in the suitcases of solidarity of friend and member Ben Caillous, mural painter and cartoonist, this 50-page cookbook with 18 recipes with simple and easy Nepali flavors is on sale for €15 in the press center at Olivier Navagas, in the bookstore Libambulle in Morgane and in the association Pyrénées Catalanes Nepal, 10, rue du Hameau in Prades.
With each purchase of a book, it is possible to finance meals and three days of schooling for one of the 26 children aged 4 to 17, residents of an orphanage in Kathmandu.
This beautiful adventure is a virtuous circle of work by children, for children.
Chauchau Fried Noodles
An example of a typical and simple recipe. Ingredients: 1 packet of egg noodles, 50 g of chopped green cabbage, 4 chopped red onions, 3 chopped tomatoes, mustard oil.
Spices: turmeric, cumin, chili, salt to taste. Cook the noodles in a pan in a glass of water. Heat the oil with the cabbage in a wok and melt the onion. Add tomatoes and cook for 2 minutes, add spices. Place the noodles in a wok over high heat and simmer for a few minutes.
