The mother of a large family who had “the fear of her life” announced that her youngest child is suffering from tracheitis, an inflammation of the trachea which connects the larynx to the bronchi.
“Marceau wakes up crying”
Mélanie Gonzalez told this morning on Instagram the fear they had that night with her husband. And if all was well during the day, his son Marceau woke up crying in the middle of the night making disturbing noises: “Marceau wakes up crying and making weird noises. I thought he was throwing up, but I wasn’t sure. So I go to see him because he never cries at night. And here I come, the little one had a runny nose and had trouble breathing. I thought he was crying and you know, when they have it, as we say at home, ‘big on the heart’, they suffocate a little.” Without waiting, the Gonzalez called the Samu to explain the symptoms of the little boy. “We were directed by a doctor who asked us if he had a fever, but Marceau did not. Then he heard the way he breathed and asked if his ribs sunk in when he breathed and I said ‘Yes.‘” she recounted.

“He is much better”
After a videoconference with the doctor, Franck, the father of the familybrought her son to Châtellerault hospital a few minutes from the family home. “Franck left with him (…) and when they arrived, they were taken care of right away. They gave him Celestene (an anti-inflammatory), in fact, he has tracheitis” explained Melanie Gonzalez. The mother did not hide her astonishment at this diagnosis, since her son had had no symptoms beforehand. The doctors then told him that it could happen suddenly during the night, like in Marceau. Fortunately, her son seems to have recovered quickly as his mother shared: “He is doing much better.”
