TV award for the best journalistic productions, Babacar Diagne

The national competition for the best journalistic productions of the Convention of Young Reporters of Senegal (CJRS) for the year 2022 has been launched. And for this edition, the television prize will be sponsored by the former director of Radiodiffusion Télévision Sénégalaise (RTS), Babacar Diagne. The young reporters have, by this gesture, wanted to honor the current president of the National Audiovisual Regulatory Council (CNRA). “A gesture highly appreciated by the President of the regulatory authority and the members of his cabinet who received the office of the CJRS this Monday, January 30, 2023”, informs a press release from the Convention sent to Seneweb.

“The delegation of young reporters, headed by President Migui Marame Ndiaye, considered this sponsorship natural given the man’s career in the media and the CNRA’s unwavering support for the CJRS,” the statement reads.

Furthermore, “President Migui Marame Ndiaye was also delighted that the CNRA was in tune with the CJRS in promoting its primary vocation, which is the continuous training of young reporters, and undertook on behalf of all members to honor and grow the collaboration between the two entities”.

“For his part, Mr. Babacar Diagne sent his hearty congratulations to the convention for the work done by the outgoing team, its dynamism and the momentum for democracy which resulted in the peaceful election of its 7th president in only 19 years of existence, notes the press release. Mr. Diagne also testified to his permanent support for the CJRS and made a point of expressing his wish for the perpetuation of the partnership between the two structures. With this in mind, it is a question of the resumption training sessions on the processing of information during the election period but also the tools of young reporters (granting of vests, sharing of the young reporter’s guide, etc.).

The CNRA, through its President Babacar Diagne, reiterated, finally, “its confidence in young reporters to meet the many challenges facing the profession”.
