The Pays d’Orthe Cultural Center is arranging an appointment for Books and Us this Sunday
There is a wide range of new talent this year, with Passiflore releases previewing Fabrice Lafourcade’s book, “Loïc Lapoudge, Conquering the Audience”. Works published by Éditions Gascogne will also be presented. As usual, the authors of Bidache Culture will be there to talk about their area, and the Friends of Jean-Rameau will reveal the life of the poet.
The Pays d’Orthe Cultural Center will present – along with the magazine “Orthenses” and its last issue (40) – some works and the latest publication: “Peyrehorade, from the fossil age to the modern age” which is a continuation of the book “Peyrehorade en Pays d’Orthe” published twenty years ago and long since sold out. This new edition contains many novelties that will delight readers.
Faithful participants
Faithful participants are also expected by those who devour their works such as Alain Quesnel, Loïc Le Doeuff, Marylise Laverdisse, Robert Louison, Marie-Pierre Mouneyres, Philippe Soussieux, Arminda Fernandes, Serge Pacaud, Paul Blanqué. They will be joined by newcomers, Bernard Matharan, Olivier Escarmant (known for his sculptures), Isabelle Comte and Jean-Claude Barens (from Atelier du mot).
We will also discover the life of the Sierra de Guara with Mr. Blanc, the guide who introduced the sierra to college students in the 1980s, and finally, the next book by Francis Lanusse, “La Transhumance des bergers de la vallée d’Aspe in the Pays d’Orthe”, whose aims to be “a shared history for the villages and families of the two regions”, the result of precise work to identify the shepherds who settled in the Pays d’Orthe from the 18the century.
The day lasts from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with free entry and the possibility of on-site catering.
