In the latest episode of GoT, Jon Snow and other survivors travel to the other side of the Wall. But what was meant to be a release comes across as a burden with a protagonist struggling with past events.

At the end of the series, when we find him in this cell, he is preparing to be beheaded and he wants to be. He’s finished. The fact that he goes to the Wall is the greatest gift that could be given to him, but it is also the worst possible curse. He has to go back there with all that stuff and live his life thinking about how he killed Dany, how Ygritte died in his arms, and how he hung Olly. He has to live his life with all his traumas, and it’s… it’s interesting. I think that when we leave him at the end of Game of Thrones, we expected to see him sketch a small smile to show that everything was fine. But he is not well.
