what happened to the actors of “Under the sun”?
After 12 years of broadcasting on TF1, 14 seasons and 480 episodes, the soap opera “Sous le soleil” ended in 2008, marking the end of the adventures of heroines Laure Olivier (Bénédicte Delmas), Jessica Lawry (Tonya Kinzinger) and Caroline Drancourt (Adeline Blondieau). The first channel did try to offer a sequel to the stories of love and hatred of the characters five years later, with “Sous le soleil de Saint-Tropez” (2013-2014), but it was canceled after two seasons. , for lack of an audience.
Thus for almost 10 years, the cult song of the credits of the soap opera, composed by Pascal Obispo, only resonates during (frequent) reruns. And actresses and actors have long since left the Saint-Tropez film sets.
From one serial to another
Some didn’t go very far. Several actors have joined the cast of “Plus belle la vie”, shot in Marseille, after the stop of “Sous le soleil”. Avy Marciano (who played Samuel then his look-alike David) performed Sacha in the France 3 soap opera from 2010 to 2021. Christine Lemler (Valentine) and Julie Boulanger (Aurélie) also made a stint at the Mistral. Bénédicte Delmas (Laure) did not play in “Plus belle la vie” but shot several episodes of the series after converting to directing.
We also saw several actors from “Sous le soleil” in the France 2 daily “Un si grand soleil”. Tonya Kinzinger (Jessica) has been in the credits since 2019 just like Shirley Bousquet (Jeanne) and Mélanie Maudran (Lucie) since 2018.
